September 26th - Drive to Merimbula

Hello friends,

I know it has been a couple of days since I posted. I had a little issue with not having Wifi one night and then a whole other busy day. You will learn about that with the September 27th post.

The 26th was honestly one of my favorite days so far, I headed out early right after breakfast, around 7:45 to head to Eurobodalla National Park. Some of the reviews were a little poor, saying it was just another bunch of rocks, a good quiet beach, etc. I am so glad I still decided to check it out!

I honestly fell in love with the place and it will be one of my favorite spots in Australia. I was hopping from rock to rock exploring and truly feeling like a kid again. I stopped and checked little puddles to see what wild life was living in them, found a star fish, a sea lion basking on the rocks (sleeping like Bo Jones so his name is Buster, named after Keira's family dog as well), of course birds, moths, some large shells, rocks (rocks, rocks, rocks!!) and a couple skeletons. One rabbit head, a starfish, a cuttle fish bone and some other scatterings of bones.

I was the happiest I had been in a long time here. I headed to a couple quick stops after that and some loneliness sunk in a bit. I had a spot for lunched picked out but once I found parking I was right next to this place called Casey's - shoutout Casey Milroy! So I headed in, saw a little sloth on the door wearing an Aussie hat, got some food and felt a little comfort knowing that I was surrounded by family.

Then I headed to Bermagui for the Blue Pool, a man made pool with freezing cold ocean water. Luckily I was not the only one to go in, a little Aussie couple braved the waters with me and we had a good swim while people were calling us lunatics. It felt like a cold plunge that I have done at home before but in much cleaner water! Ha

From there I headed quickly to my stay as it was 65F and needed to warm up quick. The stay that I had was a little cabin right next to Australia's most scenic public toilet! I headed to dinner at Monti, an Italian restaurant. I had a wonderful pasta dish, tiramisu and read some One Piece at the bar. It was a crazy busy night there.

One thing I did notice was that they typically played American songs when I have been out in public. Ordering coffee is different, a black coffee is called a long black, I believe a latte is a tall white, maybe long as well- I have not ordered it. Oops!
